Dan and Mary Gunn Photo
1863 photo of Dan and Mary Gunn
Dan and Mary were the children of Frederick W. Gunn. Charles was close to Dan and Mary, having become a member of the family and watching both grow up over the period of time that Charles spent in the Gunn household. His closeness to Dan is especially evident in the fact that he writes to him in one of the surviving letters.
This photograph is very likely to be the same picture which Charles describes in his April 11th letter to Abigail. From the description, and time that the photograph was taken, there is little doubt in my mind that Charles held a copy of this photograph in his hand.
